Yesterday I went and did something I thought i'd never do, after telling myself countless times that it's a waste of time. I went and bought Guitar Hero 3. Hooray for selling out! ^_^

For something that's practically a toy, it actually isn't that bad. It features four difficulties, 5 fret buttons and a plastic toggle for a strum substitute. All you have to do is press the buttons and 'strum' in time to coloured notes flying towards you. For anyone who plays a guitar, you'll know that it's nothing like that. But meh, it's still fun to pretend you're shredding up some classic rock solo when all you do is press 'Green, blue, green, yellow'

The song's featured are not a bad pick. They have such classics as 'aint it Black' 'School's Out' and 'aranoid' to modern singles like Cherub Rock' 'Stricken' and 'Before I Forget' just to mention a few.They still missed out Rammstein and Nine Inch Nails though. Forshame.

But, man, do NOT try it on Extreme. There's only one possible way to beat a song on Extreme and that is to train a huntsman to do it for you. Yes, you heard me, all those people on Youtube who filmed themselves beating the game on Extreme. I'M ON TO YOU!



At the end of it all, it does kind of help your guitar skills in a few small ways, such as working up speed and hand-eye coordination. And it still isn't a substitute for a real guitar. I love my Esp, plus there's a lot more potential for that.

...That still won't stop me from putting down the plastic guitar though. ^_^



On one last note, why do I get billed for things I don't do in the game? And why is it possible to play with a normal controller? And why are there no GOD DAMN SONG'S BY SLASH even though he's the so-called main character?
